P20 Reprocessed Data for Run 2b
Run 2b reprocessing is being done on a selected sample of raw data events.
Selection criteria were agreed to by D0 physics groups. The reprocessing
project consists of the following steps.
- Selection criteria are negotiated with and agreed to by physics groups.
- Event selection. -- Selected events are determined
in the form of a list of run and event numbers.
- Raw data skimming. -- All raw data tapes will
be read and selected events will be saved on disk and declared to sam.
- Reconstruction. -- Selected raw data will be reconstructed using
reprocessing d0reco. Following reconstruction, raw data files for selected
events will be deleted from disk, but sam metadata for reprocessed raw
data files will still be available.
- Caffing. -- Reconstructed selected data will be
converted to caf trees. Reprocessed data will not be skimmed.
The main improvements in reprocessing d0reco are as follows.
- Electron and muon track-in-roads.
- Improved track fake track killer (FTK2).
- Improved SMT alignment.
- Event by event SMT pedestals.
- Improved SMT Lorentz shifts.
- Algorithm improvements made during the course of run 2b (e.g. primary
vertex reconstruction) will be applied to earlier epochs.
Reprocessing d0reco releaess are p20.18.08 and later. Here is a summary
of reprocessing d0reco releases.
- p20.18.07 -- Prototype reprocessing release (no updated alignment and
never used for production).
- p20.18.08 -- First reprocessing release. Updated alingnment only for
run 2b3. Only used for run 2b3 data.
- p20.18.09 -- Crash fixes. Only used for run 2b3.
- p20.18.10 -- More crash fixes. Only used for run 2b3.
- p20.18.11 -- Updated alignment for second half of run 2b4 (plus more crash fixes).
- p20.18.12 -- Updated alignment for run 2b2. Used for run 2b2.
- p20.18.13 -- Updated alignment for run 2b1. Used for run 2b1.
- p20.18.13a -- Identical to p20.18.13. Used to re-reprocess part of run 2b4 with fixed calorimeter calibration.
Analysis releases for reprocessed data are p21.24.00 or later.
Release p21.24.00 contains one major improvement compared to previous
analysis releases, which is an improved set of EM hits-on-road
variables, which are available in EM objects and TMBEMCluster caf branch.
These variables are only available in data that has been caffed using
release p21.24.00 or later.
Here is a summary of reprocessing analysis releases.
- p21.24.00 -- First reprocessing analysis release. Updated EM hits-on-road
variables and updated alignment for run 2b3 (matches d0reco p20.18.08,
p20.18.09 and p20.18.10). Used for caffing run 2b3 data.
- p21.25.00 -- Updated alignment for second half of run 2b4 (matches d0reco
p20.18.11). Used for caffing run 2b4 data.
- p21.26.00 -- Updated alignment for run 2b2 (matches d0reco
p20.18.12). Used for caffing run 2b2 data.
- p21.27.00 -- Updated alignment for run 2b1 (matches d0reco
p20.18.13). Used for caffing run 2b1 data. Used for caffing run 2b4 data reprocessed with p20.18.13a.
Selected raw data can be found using the following sam query.
sam translate constraints --dim="APPL_NAME eventfiltering and VERSION v00-01-00 and DATA_TIER filtered-raw"
or use the following predefined datasets.
Files containing selected raw data events do not span run numbers.
Reprocessed all stream data in sam (for a particular d0reco version)
can be found using the following type of constraint. Reprocessed data
is dinstinguished from any other kind of d0reco data only by the d0reco
version.
sam translate constraints --dim="APPL_NAME d0reco and VERSION p20.18.08 and DATA_TIER thumbnail"
or use the following predefined datasets.
Caffed reprocessed all stream data in sam can be found using the following
type of constraint.
sam translate constraints --dim="APPL_NAME tmb_analyze and VERSION csg-p21.24.00-p20.18.08 and DATA_TIER root-tree"
or use the following predefined datasets.
