Victor Bodyagin

In Memoriam
1949 - 2003

Dear Colleagues,

With great sadness and shock we have to announce the sudden and unexpected death of our friend and D0 colleague from Moscow State University Victor Bodyagin. It happened on the night of December 18th as a result of heart attack.

Victor participated in a number of international collaborations and studies.

At JINR, Dubna, he initiated and successfully performed a pioneering experiment on the deflection of protons and relativistic nuclei in the bent silicon mono-crystal.

Victor was one of the key figures in the construction of AGS experiment E852 at BNL "Search for mesons with unusual quantum numbers", in running the experiment and analysis of the collected data.

In lastest years he worked at the Fermilab D0 experiment and in collaboration with other colleagues he contributed significantly to the studies of diffractive processes based on the Roman Pots method.

Victor was a very good physicist and nice friendly person. We will all miss him.

Pavel Ermolov and Edward Boos.
