In the February 5, 1999 meeting of the Advisory Council,
we discussed the issue of a memorial for Dan Owen.

Members  all  supported the  idea of  installing a  plaque  dedicated to
collaborators  who  had  passed away.
Paul  Grannis has  volunteered to prepare a  plaque for  installation in
the  control  room. The following wording has been proposed:

        "The D0 Collaboration records its appreciation for
         those who contributed so greatly to the success of
         the experiment."

Then with  small individual  plates,  names and years of  birth/death of
individuals.

In addition, a modified homepage, listing contributions to D0, would be
linked to the D0 Personal Pages home page.
Elizabeth Gallas has volunteered to create such a page for Dan Owen,
similar to what has been done in some previous cases.

Please contact any member of the  Advisory Council or the contact person
listed if  you have  comments on  the plaque  wording or  suggestions or
contributions on the Dan Owen web page content.

The Advisory Council encourages colleagues who would like to memorialize
Dan Owen in a  more  specific manner to  contact Maris  Abolins or Harry
Weerts.
