Videoconferencing Troubleshooting

The following is intended to summarize very briefly the most common problems experienced in videoconferences, and largely to provide a list of pointers to more expert advice.
User feedback on possible problems, triage etc. is very welcome!

Ad-Hoc H.323 conferencing

• The primary source of information is the ECS Troubleshooting Guide. Unfortunately, the use of the test number 89TEST has been discontinued.
• Problems often result from firewall issues; this page lists the ports that should be opened for H.323 videoconferencing to function properly.
• Some simple triage can be obtained by connecting to the so-called Copy Bird, which lives at GDS number 00112971386, and IP address 152.2.61.199. This allows to test bi-directional audio and video.
