Juan Cruz Estrada (PostDoc) Service Work: CFT Electronics 24+ hrs per week Service Task Group: Run IIb Service task Leader:Marvin Johnson Description: "Since winter 2002 I have been working in a replacement for the CFT/PS electronics. The original idea was to replace the front end chips in the current system (SIFT+SVX) with a new chip (TriP) that could operate at 132 nsec. Now we know that we Tevatron will never run at 132 nsec, but the new electronics solves many of the problems in the current electronics and gives the possibility of timing readout. For this reason we are now studying the possibility of the replacement as part of the DZERO upgrade. A decision on the possible electronics upgrade has to be done early next year." "In the next few months: get ready to test fully instrumented AFEII prototypes, these are now being design and should arrive by the end of the year. Updated: October 20, 2003
