Heavy Flavour Hadron Decays in Pythia 6.2
Purpose:
-
In order to improve the description of the heavy flavour
hadrons decays by Pythia, the current (resp. previous) D0 prescription
is (resp. was) to prevent their decay in Pythia and have them handled by
EvtGen
(resp. QQ)
instead; provided the corresponding EvtGen (resp. QQ) user.decay file is
(resp. was) given.
D0 contact persons:
Caveats:
-
Currently, EvtGen only handles the 5 following B-hadrons
decays:
-
MDCY(134,1) = MDCY(C511,1)
= 0 ! B0
-
MDCY(137,1) = MDCY(C521,1)
= 0 ! B+
-
MDCY(140,1) = MDCY(C531,1)
= 0 ! BS0
-
MDCY(143,1) = MDCY(C541,1)
= 0 ! BC+
-
MDCY(210,1) = MDCY(C5122,1) =
0 ! Lambdab0
The notation used for the MDCY array in the first column
(black) uses Pythia compressed code for particles, whereas the notation
is the second column (blue) uses an equivalent (wrt to our Pythia-MC++
interface) of the Pythia full code for particles. Both notations are correct
and can be used indifferently in the cardfiles package.
