1) D0Sim Milestones:
Qizhong showed the
D0Sim Milestones for February 21,
March 15, and May 15.
The Milestone for Feb. 21 are already met:
- D0GSTAR without Digi Packages. Shuichi reported he took out Digi packages
and made new release for D0gstar.
- Prototype D0Sim program, which includes:
- 1st version pile-up package
- Existing Digi packages: (sftdigi_reco, fpsdigi, cpsdigi, muo_digi)
- CalWeight package
Serban reported that a prototype D0Sim is already put into cvs and
will be in the next release.
2) Subdetector's concerns on noise, efficiencies and pileup:
- Calorimeter: Marek reported the purpose, status, plans and manpower for
calorimeter Pile-up in detail. Here is the summary of
his talk.
- cps: Don Coppage reported cps digitization status. Works done beyond the current production MC:
- Nearst neighbor crosstalk
- Photo Statistics
- Stereo angle bug for Z<0 fixed
All the above iterms are in the current releases. But not turned on and not
extensively tested. The pile-up will be their future work.
- fps: Dennis Shpakov reported that
the situation with the FPS noise simulation package is pretty much
the same as with the CPS: no real numbers characterizing noise and
inefficiencies exist so far. The plan is to have methods to
simulate cross talk between neighboring strips as well as fiber
attenuation and reflection in fpsdigi by March 15 with some
reasonable default parameters. As for the pileup, there is no FPS
specific part of the problem: hits from the min. bias events
should be added to SimFPSHitChunk and will therefore be picked up
by fpsdigi automatically.
- Muon: no report from muon group.
- cft: no report from cft group.
- SMT: Ela reported that Anatoly Solomin will work on SMTdigi package,
which is a conversion of the current SMT digitization from Fortran to C++ and will include SMT noise and ineficiency in the simulation. Anatoly just
came from Moscow and will work here for three months for this project.
