DØ Level 3 Algorithms Meeting:
30th January 2002
Talks
Verbal Status Reports
-
Jet ID: Volker Buescher.
Jet+EM ran in p11.01.00 on 27K data events without a crash (until SAM
gave up). Turn on curve will be presented next week.
-
L3Muon Status: Martin Wegner.
There were 2 main problems last time:
-
As reported by Gustaaf to the email list, the memory leak in
scriptrunner was a problem that had been fixed in December, but had
never made it into the release. Now done.
-
The track reconstruction efficiency was much lower in Monte Carlo than
expected. Two possible causes were being investigated:
-
Problems with segments and tracks not lining up in the event display.
Discussed in detail in the muon reconstruction meeting. Appears to be
a problem that doesn't affect track finding, only the display.
-
A large fraction of the PDT hits were missing in p10.13.
Many explanations floating around, and muon reco group expected to
come up with a definitive understanding soon.
But in the short term it looks like problem can be
avoided by running jobs on d0mino.
Martin said in answer to a question that most of the infrastructure
needed for local muon reconstruction is already in the current
(p11.01.00) release.
Points Arising, AOB.
-
Given the approaching target date of 11th Feb 2002 for the p11
release to L3 farm,
we shall have a meeting next week.
-
Please send Terry feedback on, and contributions to, the new L3 algorithms
web pages.
