Currently the certifications is done via cvs package l3ftrack_analysis and the macros contained therein. This package is intended to run "out of the box" and to be used by all with no prior understanding or experience of the l3 system and of tracking. This package will form the basis of ALL certified comparisons between trackers. Currently the efficiency for the level 3 tracker is derived with respect to offline tracks. There are a variety of findability cuts imposed on the offline tracks due to the different nature of the online and offline tracking. The track matching between these findable tracks and the l3 tracks is performed on the basis of the track parameters. The package is simple to run and the analysis macros can be easily changed to suit the user. Instructions on how to run the package can be obtained here. The following are samples tool lists for the global tracker, cft tracker, htrack. |

There are a variety of debugging tools similar to the official tool. Currently there are two such tools, a program to debug the SMT unpacker and one for the global tracker. The latter is based on comparing CFT hits between the online and offline tracks in order to match tracks and hence calculate efficiencies, etc. Both these tools do NOT work out of the box and require minor modifications and tweaks to the unpackers and trackers. Furthermore they only work on data/MC which has been reco'd maintaining all the hit information. See here for information on how to keep this information. For more information send us an e-mail. These tools are only really intended if you need to do detailed debugging of the trackers and unpackers and are not meant for the "ordinary" user. |
