2002 |
Status of releases:
- p11.11.00 - Being installed on farms
New features:
- Enable offline threshold cuts for calorimeter and set to 2.5
sigma
- Fix calorimeter non-linear corrections (problem introduced in
p11.10.00)
- Implement TMB+ (TMB + CalDataChunk + MuoTrackChunk)
- Fix bug in emreco resulting in incorrect HMatrix chisq
- Fix bug in SMT Lorentz corrections for Monte Carlo (long standing
problem)
- Add support for all existing tracking algorithms and provide
tools for TRAC
studies for p13
- Add support for SMT / CFT calibration db access (use format =
"data_db")
- Bug fixes to deal with reported floating point exceptions
- p12 - Under development
- p12.02.00 being built.
- Not yet certified
- test release - As of t02.31.00
- RECO
- Segmentation violation in caldata (frequent) - potential fix
scheduled for t02.32.00
- Floating point exception in muonid when processing MC
(common) - under investigation

maps (silicon_geometry - t02.30.00)
- RECO_ANALYZE - runs
- Include smt_lpos_ref - t02.30.00
- Remove SmtPos*CollectChunks from RECO veto list -
t02.30.00
- DST / TMB
- DST size - 260 KB
- TMB+ size - 39 KB
- Current outstanding problems / issues
- DST size greater than 150KB
- Four GTrack chunks currently in DST, reduce to 401 chunk
only - t02.30.00
- SMTMcIdDataChunk large, even when processing data - under
investigation

- Some understood, fixed in t02.03.00
- others under investigation
- semreco has duplicate symbols - fixed in t02.30.00
- elastic_reco broken - fixed in t02.31.00
- Inefficient use of edm required unnecessary accesses to
chunks
- edm::findAll - avoid dereferencing chunks that are not of
the proper type - fix available from Scott available for t02.30.00
- Use d0_Ref in SmtDataChunk - fix available from Scott for
t02.30.00

- No primary vertices found - wrong rcp parameter - fixed in
t02.30.00
Recent progress:
- Offline calorimeter thresholds have been implemented.
- TMB+ is available.
- analysis_example is being made available.
- Testing of RECO in test releases has resumed.
Major outstanding problems:
- Without access to the calibration databases, official running of RECO
requires SMT and CFT flat files, which are available in the head versions of
CVS packages. Non-farm users have been unaware of this requirement. Currently
under consideration: improve documentation, automate access with d0tools.
- RECO_ANALYZE crashes on Monte Carlo farms in p11, due to what appears
to be a reoccuring bug related to connections to the network. Under
investigation
Ongoing projects:
- Tracking algorithms for p13 - A
committee
was recently appointed to collect data concerning the currently available
tracking algorithms and make recommendations concerning which algorithms should
be run in p13. All combinations of algorithms that will be tested have been
made available in p11.11.00.
- RECO Monitoring
tasks - Currently eight people have volunteered and are working on the two
advertised
RECO monitoring projects.
- Chunk documentation -
Currently two people have volunteered.
