Data samples for your personal development or analysis
projects can be stored in one of two places on the central analysis system
(DØMINO): project disk or tmp disk. Project disk space is
assigned by group
leaders ; tmp disk space is assigned by the disk
manager for your institution. Project and
tmp space are *not* backed up automatically;
you
as the user must handle this yourself or verify that your group/institution
is doing so. Larger data samples are stored in the ADIC
robotic storage system and can be accessed via the SAM
data handling system. Files you access via SAM will be cached
on disk and not deleted until the space is absolutely required.
For looking at datasets already defined, you can use either the
'Browse
the SAM metadata' page or the Dataset
Definition Editor to find a
dataset of interest to you, or use the Dataset
Definition Editor link to make your own dataset.
