Minutes of D0 Graphics Meeting July 11, 2002 D0 workshop at Oklahoma University 1. Event display in the control room: discussion with Alan Stone We discussed several possible improvements to the display in the control room, both for D0 shifters and for PR (people that visit D0 or the WEB display). The display will look nicer and will be more useful if we can select event by the triggers they pass. This is already available and will be implemented. Alan also proposes to implemented more views: XY zoomed to CAL, XY zoomed to the tracker and idem for RZ. Toby proposes to run a display with calorimeter towers only that does not run reco and so would be much faster. 2. Activities at Orsay (see slides duflot_11Jul2002.ps) Porting the (eta, phi) view to D0scan is in progress. New 2D inventor nodes have been defined: So2DArrow, SoCircleArc, SoDisk, SoPolygon, SoQuad, SoRing, SoTriangle. A set of OIV nodes has be writtend, they allow to tightly integrate views: the representations of a given object for different views would be attached to a switch node that is sensitive to a context variable set in the scene graph. The following nodes has been defined: SoParametersElement, SoStringParameter, SoIntParameter, SoFloatParameter, SoParameterKit, SoSwitchOnParameter 3. Contact persons Andre Sznajder will be our FPD contact. He is already working with George and Toby muons: Frederic Deliot (TBC) EMid : Michel Jaffre (TBC) list of people we should contact directly: Denis Spakhov (FPS), Gavin Hesketh (SMT/muon) Valentin Kouznetsov (tracking) Don Coppage (CPS) Mike Hildreth (CFT, CPS) 4. Requirements In the addition to the discussions in the main meeting, here are the suggestions received via email: - Select event on triggers or ticks & turn - Display for luminosity monitors - Anything for TMBtrees ? - Make the online display faster, possibly by display L3 objects - Importance of the visual aspect of the display 5. Priorities We defined the priorities for the next couple of month: - select event on triggers - display trigger informations - implement the suggested viewpoints for the control room and WEB display and the CAL Lego plot only display - integration of Todd's 2-D views in d0scan and release to test releases - Physics Lego view 6. Misc Investigate if one can buy a site wide or collaboration wide license for exceed3D or WRQ.
