Release Notes for Samgrid (SAM V7 Support) - DRAFT

If you are doing a new install of Samgrid with SAM V7 support, please refer the installation guide for the list of packages and installation steps.
Install the packages as per the package version given below in the table.
Updating the Middleware Packages
Packages affected are -
1. python
2. vdt
3. sam_gsi_config
4. sam_gsi_config_util
5. tomcat
6. pyxml
7. xml_common_lib
8. xml_meta_configurator
9. jim_config
10. xmldb_client
11. xmldb_server
12. samgrid_util
13. server_run
Updating the SAM Packages
Packages affected are -
1. sam
2. sam_cp
Updating the Client Site
Packages affected are -
1. jim_client
Updating the Submission Site
Packages affected are -
1. jim_broker_client
Updating the Execution Site
Packages affected are -
1. jim_advertise
2. samgrid_batch_adapter
3. jim_sandbox
4. sam_client
5. jim_job_managers

Refer the releases webpage for the most recent release cut

Install the middleware packages before you start configuring the packages. It is recommended to install the middleware packages in the order given in the table.
Follow the Samgrid installation guide for configuring individual packages.
Configure sam_config to use V7 DB Server
Configuring samgrid_batch_adapter -
Configuration of samgrid_batch_adapter is similar to the configuration of sam_batch_adapter. First verify that the configuration for your site does not already exist by executing following commands.
```
$promt:> setup samgrid_batch_adapter
$promt:> setup sam -O python
$promt:> setup samgrid_batch_adapter
$promt:> sambatch display station config [--station=station name]
      
```
If your batch adapter is not configured by default, you may either opt to configure it, or copy the batch adapter from $SAM_BATCH_ADAPTER_CONFIG_DIR into $SAMGRID_BATCH_ADAPTER_CONFIG_DIR and make appropriate changes.

After verifying that the batch_adapter configuration is in place, verify that the batch_adapter is using handler from correct location. Modify the batch_adapter if required.

At this point, if you have configured all the required packages, try submitting the job.
