Checklist for installing new nodes or updating operating systems on the D0 Farms
Networking: assign new IP addresses enstore: needs to put new nodes on the ok list (message to enstore-admin, normally holdup as need permission from Amber, Nick or Mike farms-team: install os fbs launchers on all nodes set up accounts set up disk areas /local/stage1, /local/stage2 - give d0farm and sam permission! get the startup stuff like ups ... sam_bootstrap into the system startup sequence. mount home area and pnfs setup keytabs for /var/adm/krb5/sam/sam.keytab inform us of major configuration changes - like products which use rpm's instead of ups/upd ---how do we find out what rpm's are installed? sam admin add nodes to DB d0 farms group add new node_class, processs type , queue to fbs ...... add nodes to the batch system add disks to the station add stagers to the stop_start_stagers scripts add nodes to the batch job database create /local/stage2/prd-cache directory from sam account.
