Accounts & Access Account Request Resetting Passwords Obtain or Renew Visitor's ID and Kerberos Account

Fermilab Visitor ID verification

For those D0 collaborators with
NO Fermilab ID
or
an EXPIRED visitor's ID
or
a visitor's ID that is about to expire
or
any combination of the above

That is, any D0 collaborator who needs a new visitor's ID
should follow these instructions.

NOTE: If you need a physical ID card, you can use these procedures to update your ID authorization. Then, then next time you are on-site, report to the Users' Office (Wilson Hall, Attrium level). They will direct you in the remaining steps.

For those Visitor's (xxxxxV ID's) who are currently and normally offsite, there is a new web based mechanism to obtain and renew your ID's and computer accounts.

- Read the appropriate sections and follow the instructions. For new users you will obtain:
  - A Fermilab Visitor's ID number (not a badge)
  - Authorization to obtain a badge (must come to Fermilab in person to get the badge)
  - Kerberos account (key to all Unix systems at Fermilab)
  - Authorization for a Fermilab Windows account
  - SMTP account (<user>@fnal.gov forwarder + outgoing email server)
- Once you've received confirmation that your ID has been created, if you need DØ accounts fill out the DØ Account Request form which will get you actual accounts into which you can login.
For anyone else, follow these instructions:
- Fill out and print out (or the reverse) the Application for Fermilab Visitor ID (fillable PDF).
- Obtain the signature of
  - one of the spokespersons (DAB6)
  - Alan Jonckheere (DAB5) (x3158)
- Take the form to the Users' Office (WH Attrium) where they will direct you with the next steps.
- Once you've received confirmation that your ID has been created, if you need DØ accounts fill out the DØ Account Request form.
