Policy on D0 Personal Web Server disk usage and quotas

ie) http://www-d0.fnal.gov/~<username>

revised 14 Feb 2006

Personal web server disk space usage must meet the standards for general disk usage as laid out in the Fermilab Computer Usage Policy.

In addition the space provided at D0 must be used *only* for personal documentation. It's not a data storage area. Talks by the author, thesis work etc. are the sorts of things that are envisioned. A few family pictures and the like are also OK. Just don't get extreme. Political statements are *not* OK.

Personal web space should *not* be used for anything that should outlive the author's involvement with the experiment. Anything that should outlive their involvement should be put onto one of the D0 group's web areas.

Disk space allotment guidelines and requirements are:

Up to 250 MB, the sys-admins can just do at their discretion. Up to 500 MB, they can do with notice to d0web-support@fnal.gov including the usage statement. Above 500 MB, one of the members of d0web-support must give their OK.

The major reason for the notices is that we want people to be aware of the usage policy. So anytime someone requests an increase, this policy should be emailed to them.
