The movement of FPD Roman Pot is made by use of a small industrial (NEMA 23) stepping motor. The stepping motor driver, PDS 15-2, is an industrial "dumb" driver that receives TTL level command signals from a custom made index interface board. The index interface board is connected to a Rack Monitor Module and the board receives and sends digital and analog signals from/to this module.
The pot position will be mesured by a LVDT and a signal conditioner will convert and send the signal to the Rack Monitor.
The motors, index interface boards, LVDT's signal conditioners and the Rack Monitor Modules will be installed in the TEV tunnel near to the Roman Pots.
