                  FPD RM Configuration

                  ====================

 

 

This is a brief summary of current RM configuration after MUX installation

There are 5 RM in the tunnel, one for each castle.

 

EPICS names from FPD RM are the following:

 

P1: FPD_RM_02-11

P2: FPD_RM_02-13

A1: FPD_RM_02-01

A2: FPD_RM_02-03

D : FPD_RM_02-05

 

Digital ports configuration:

 

P2 ( bin05, 1 port )                à  output

P7 ( bin06–bin13, 8 mux ports )      ß input

P3 ( bin00, 1 port )         

      ß  input

P8 ( bin01–bin04, 4 mux ports )      à  output

Piano switches on the RM front panel must be set as  -_  _--_

 

Digital ports details (lower bit is 0) :

 

P2 (bin05) :  Software Control Command

 

     bit 4: smoke reset, =1 all the time, =0 when reset

     bit 5: control of driver power box, =1 on, =1 off

     bit 6: control of amplifier board power box, =1 on, =1 off

     bit 7: software emergency line (not implemented)

     bit 8: not used

 

P8 (bin01–bin04) : Pot Motion Command, 16 bit word

 

     bin01 - control of UP pot

     bin02 - control of DOWN pot

     bin03 - control of IN pot

     bin04 - control of OUT pot

 

P3 (bin00)  :  Software Control Status

 

     bit 0: smoke signal, =1 no smoke, =0 smoke

     bit 1: driver power box status, =1 on, =1 off

     bit 2: amplifier board power box status, =1 on, =1 off

     bit 3: control line status, =1 enabled, =0 disabled

     bit 4: emergency line status, =1 emergency, =0 no emergency

     bit 5: readout of what is written in bit 5 of P2

     bit 6: readout of what is written in bit 6 of P2

     bit 7: readout of what is written in bit 7 of P2

     bit 8: readout of what is written in bit 8 of P2

     bit 9 – bit 11: low bits of RMI geographical address (not implemented)

 

P7 (bin06–bin13) :  Pot Motion Status

 

     bin06 – readout of what is written in P8, bin01

     bin07 - readout of what is written in P8, bin02

     bin08 - readout of what is written in P8, bin03

     bin09 - readout of what is written in P8, bin04

     bin10 – status of UP pot, 8 bits

                  bit 0: cable status bit, =0 ok, =1 failure

                  bit 1: home bit, =0 not home, =1 home

                  bit 2: in bit, =1 in, =0 out

                  bit 3: motion bit, =0 stop, =1 motion

                  bit 4: mechanical status, =0 ok, =1 failure

                  bit 5: driver status, =1 ok, =1 failure

                  bit 6: direction, =1 in, =0 out

     bin11 – status of DOWN pot, 8 bits

     bin12 – status of IN pot, 8 bits

     bin13 – status of OUT pot, 8 bits

 

 

Analog ports configuration:

 

AD32 :  raw LVDT from UP pot

AD33 :  raw LVDT from DOWN pot

AD34 :  raw LVDT from IN pot

AD35 :  raw LVDT from OUT pot
