Introduction
The goal of global tracking is to find and fit the tracks in a D0 event using event data from one or more of the D0 subdetectors. The goal of vertexing is to provide reliable primary and secondary vertices made from the global tracks. The input event data for tracking is a collection of clusters from each subdetector. The output is a collection of global tracks where each track contains a list of clusters and one or more kinematical fits based on this list. These are given to the vertexing package whose output is primary and/or secondary vertices. This page serves as the gateway for documentation of the D0 Run II global tracking and vertexing software. It describes (or provides links to) the organization of the code and management and status of the project.

Tracking algorithms:
Currenlty GTR group supports and develops three tracking algorithms: a histogramming method (HTF), a road-following method (AA) which has been combined with HTF, and another road-following method (GTR) which provides a common infrastructure for propagation, refitting, and multiple scattering and energy loss correction. More information is available here.

Additional information on tracking algorithms studies is available from the Tracking Algorithm Recommendation Committee (TARC II).

A project has been started to tune the momentum scale of the track reconstruction by tuning the magnetic field and tracker material model. Additional information can be found in the tracking momentum scale page.
