Global tracking data

Presntation for the data tier committee on May 11, 2000.

Global tracking data includes a list of global tracks for each event. These are made up of a list of states (one for each cluster on the track).

Here is the persistent data.

I looked at 1000 Pythia zmumu events with no background. Here is the global tracking size (evpack format) for three cases:

Keeping all states for all six chunks:   49.7 MB

Keeping all states for the last chunk:   16.6 MB

Keeping two states for the last chunk:    3.9 MB

These results were obtained by doing a run where no tracks were produced and subtracting this size (130 MB) from the total file size in each case. The values were obtained with an updated t00.87.00 on d0mino.

Our background events produce 1.5 times as many tracks as these very quiet zmumu events.
