Progress since last summer

We have made much progress since last summer:

• The program runs much faster

  • Optimized Linux is 5X faster than unoptimized IRIX.
  • Better paths
  • Code optimization

• Overlap is almost ready

• Identified the non-uniform field as a problem and work has begun to include it in track finding

• Track refit is faster and accounts better for material

• Partial understanding of the CFT efficiency dropoff with added bg

• Cut recording shows the effect of individual cuts

• Moved hardwired detector cuts into OBS files

• Can extrapolate outside the tracker (but not past the CPS)

• Capture and run environment makes track finding portable

• Farm allows us to run tests in a few hours instead of a few days

• Some progress in CFT cosmic ray tracking (for commissioning)
