From kupco@fzu.cz Thu Oct 31 08:52:35 2002 From: Alexander Kupco Date: Wed, 30 Oct 2002 21:04:22 -0600 here is the "MC" version of the plot I had in one my talk. It show CHF, n90, PhiW, and EtaW for the central leading jet (eta < 0.5) with PT between 35GeV and 60 GeV. The green line is for MC sample, blue for jets from minimum bias trigger (i.e bad jets), and red for jets from JT_25TT_NG sample. I believe MC should corresponf to JT_25TT_NG sample, since you generate 2 jets with PT above 20 GeV. It is roughly like "trigger" requirement. There is not too many jets in the sample, but CHF looks roughly OK (although, it is may be a little bit more peaked toward zero in MC sample). But I would say that clearly the MC jets are still narrower than the jets in the data. You can see it on all three transverse shape variables (n90, PhiW, and EtaW). It would also interesing to see wheter MC can reproduce also those "fat" jets. This will require some MC sample with low PT cut (5 or even 2). That could correspond to our minimum bias sample. But have no idea how many MC events you have to generate in order to have reasonable number of jets with PT arround 35GeV. I wiil try to look also on cell energy distributions. It would be much simpler (and almost trivial) if I do not select events based on the trigger. Do you think I need to select the events in the data for that kinf of comparisson? Cheers, Alexander
