The French Calibration Pulser Power Supply is basically two commercial Vicor power supplies with additional electronics hardware to interface it to a Rack Monitor chassis. The voltage and current monitoring and fault protection is the same as the Preamp power supplies. The Monitor board is identical with only the Personality modules and FPGA logic being different. Only the first four channels of the Monitor card are used and the logic reflects this fact. For details on circuit operation please refer to the Preamp Monitor board description.
One feature of this supply is an AC enable. During testing occationally the supply would crowbar off. When this happens the only way to reset the crowbar circuit is to remove the AC power for approximately 5 minutes. A solid-state relay was installed for this purpose and is controlled by the computer interface. This feature is disabled when the supply is operated in Local control.
Although they are not part of the power supply, they are part of the system. These probes are attached to the critical ICs in the Pulser chassis and connected to the Fanout chassis with Lemo cables.
The front panel has test points that connect to the DC outputs that can be used to measure the voltage of the output with a scope or DVM.
