Summary from FNAL (21/7-27/7)
-----------------------------

Cables:
-------

No major problems were encountered so far during the installation
of the cables by Pierre & Patrick.
The preamp boxes on the east-side are all done.
At present the west-side is worked upon and the preparation of the
cable-ends below the detector started.
The connectors and cables should be tested in september
(or at latest before the installation of the fanout/preamp boards).
A small card to be plugged on the connectors with different resistors
for each twisted pair must be designed and assembled.

FanOuts:
--------

Dean pointed out some necessary changes with the positions of connectors,
pin length, labeling and the choice of the connectors for flat cables.
A new prototype design has been produced by Christophe and sent to Dean
for approval. A new prototype could be produced before August 15th
and tested and sent to FNAL before the final production.

ICD:
---

In a discussion with Lee Sawyer, several questions raised:

- The ICD will pulse only 4 preamps instead of 24 for the calorimeter.
Does this make any difference? Should the pulse height be limited
or is a difference injection resistance necessary?

- What type of Fanout is foreseen for the ICD? The old or the new design?
Both would fit, put the design is needed, in order to
  make the housing.

VME:
----

Dean accepted the layout of Pulser Interface Board (PIB) proposed by
Paris, and convinced also Fritz to accept it.
Besides the requests stated in Dean's mail
 - layout sended to him and Fritz
 - compatibilities with D0-VME standard:
   32 bits data/ 24 bits address/ address pipeline
 - test of RAM access in Fermilab (without program/pulser communication)
 - proposal for protocol for pulser communication/verification)
The remaining open point is the handling of the 13 trigger signals

Power Supply:
-------------

The PS control boards have arrived in Fermilab, but are not stuffed
yet. One board will be prepared for us, tested with
our Power Supply in FNAL and then sent to Paris before September
by Dave & Pat.
For the cabling of the remaining boards (12+1+spares), the possibility
of doing it at FNAL together with the other boards for the calorimeter
and the muons (~50 in total), will be investigated. Else an outside
vendor will be considered. A test procedure will be setup and
we will provide the manpower to test them at Fermilab (Bob?).
