DFEA2
Summary of Operation
The DFEA2 boards are the workhorse of the Central Track Trigger system. These boards
are responsible for finding, sorting, and counting tracks and matching the tracks to CPS axial
clusters. Each DFEA2 board has two outputs:
- L1muon. Data is continously sent to the L1muon and L1caltrk subsystems over a dedicated
gigabit copper link (SLDB). L1caltrk gets a copy of this link.
- LVDS. The LVDS output normally sends L1 records downstream to the CTOC boards;
however when the trigger framework issues a L1accept the DFEA interrupts L1 transmission momentarily to
send L2CFT and L2CPS records to the CTOC. The STOV and STSX boards get a copy of this data as well.
