• The Division of Particles and Fields of the American Physical Society (our professional society in the United States) has prepared a couple of pamphlets explaining our field for policy makers. (These links require the free Adobe Acrobat Reader)

• The Character of Particle Physics is a short introduction with an historical bent.

• The Nature of Particle Physics is short introduction for non-scientists.

The following sites are designed by others as an introduction to Particle Physics.

• The Science of Particle Physics is a part of the Fermilab outreach effort and is a colorful tour of some of the ideas which underpin our field.

• The Particle Physics Adventure is an interactive introduction to Particle Physics aimed at secondary students. It is prepared by the Particle Data Group (PDG), based at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory. The folks at the PDG perform a host of important jobs for our field.
