In addition to probing Electroweak Physics, the study of the production of W and Z bosons at the Fermilab pbar-p collider provides an avenue to explore QCD, the theory of Strong Interactions. The benefits of using intermediate vector bosons to study QCD are large Q2, distinctive event signatures, low backgrounds, and a well understood electroweak vertex. Understanding the production of W's and Z's is also important when one searches for new physics, since the backgrounds for many new processes involve W's and Z's.
