Status and Plans
The most recent store died on a quench. The complex is having difficulties coming back up. Any new store is expected to remain until Friday morning. BD will perform alpha* measurements at D0 with the collimators out at the end of this store. We must retract the roman pots, and ramp down the High Voltage on the SMT, Muon, and FPD systems. The Luminosity system must be working for these BD studies. LEAVE THE LUMINOSITY HV ON (70%). Power down the magnets once these studies are complete in preparation for SMT/CFT cooling studies.
The default trigger configuration file for collisions is now
global_L1CalMuon-1.4.xml. This trigger configuration emphasizes muon
triggers and some high Et jet and EM triggers and includes di-muon and
di-em triggers. Note that there is a
shifter prescale file that shifters can edit so that rates do
not have to be typed in after every reconfigure of the trigger. Pay
special attention that the prescales and resulting trigger rates match
the desired bandwidths specified in the trigger file.
Shifters should take note of the following for each trigger:
Trig Name Fired rate AND/OR rate Prescale
(a snapshot can be generated by import daqmon.ps or
import daqmon.jpg then click on the DAQ monitor page and save
the postscript file and then print it flpr -q dab1_hp8000 or
use JPEG to put into the logbook).
DAQ Shifters should set prescales to maintain the desired data rates as specified in the trigger files. Captains should check to make sure the rates make sense and are within the desired ranges. Contact the Triggermeisters or the Commissioning Coordinators if there are problems.
