There are four xml files with corresponding prescale files for the 4 Et thresholds we want to study. All of these files are in /online/data/coor/configurations/commissioning/test and the files are: jetcal_hadveto_3gev-1.0-default.prescales jetcal_hadveto_3gev-1.0.xml jetcal_hadveto_5gev-1.0-default.prescales jetcal_hadveto_5gev-1.0.xml jetcal_hadveto_8gev-1.0-default.prescales jetcal_hadveto_8gev-1.0.xml jetcal_hadveto_12gev-1.0-default.prescales jetcal_hadveto_12gev-1.0.xml which correspond to 3, 5, 8 and 12 GeV thresholds. Each xml file contains eight different triggers: there are four single EM triggers at the given threshold with each of 4 different hadronic veto settings, and there are four more di-EM triggers with the same set of thresholds and veto settings. As much as possible, we wish that the rate be split evenly between all eight trigger bits in each of these runs. (Obviously the higher Et files will have different rates since no prescales should be needed.) We wish to collect of order 5k events per trigger, at least for the single EM triggers, so we expect that each run would proceed for approximately 1 hour after prescales have been tuned. We do not require any other detectors in these runs besides calorimeter. Probably the Cal shifter should perform these runs since they are most aware of what's happening with that detector. In taker, the shifter needs to go into the 'Modify' menu and select 'Change Triggers'. They should select the commissioning/test directory and double click on the xml name above they wish to run. Once the download to COOR is complete, they should go into 'Prescale Set' also under the 'Modify' menu and double click on the prescale file name. Once the prescales are loaded, then recording should be turned off and a series of short runs should be taken to find what prescales are necessary to get to ~10 Hz with each trigger evenly taking data. (They should remember that for the higher Et triggers at 8 and 12 GeV, the rate for the di-EM triggers will likely not be prescaled and so these triggers will have a lower rate than the single EM triggers.) If there are any questions, they can contact me. Please pass this information along to the calorimeter, daq, or captain shifters. Thanks, Bob
