From blevan@fnal.gov Sat Sep 29 21:03:34 2001 Date: Fri, 28 Sep 2001 18:46:40 -0500 From: Levan Babukhadia To: d0shifters@fnal.gov Subject: prescale instructions for global_CalMuon-1.4.xml There seems to be a more or less stable running going on right now with the new store and with the global_CalMuon-1.4.xml configuration with the prescales set from the prescales file in the corresponding directory global_CalMuon-1.4-prescales. Shifters (d0run) can and should save changes they make to the prescale values in this or in new copies of the prescales set file(s) in that directory. The total rate into L3 seems to be averaging at about 30-35Hz with burst of up to 60-70Hz right now with the rate to tape of about 7-10Hz on average with burst of up to 12-15Hz. If the rate overall and into L3 needs to be reduced (say with more crates you can not keep up with this rate) then try to increase prescale on CEM(1,5) trigger. This one now dominates rate into L3 and should give a good handle at lowering the rate. If on the other hand the luminosity goes down and you want to increase the rate of some triggers, the following should be given priorities in this order: CEM(2,5), mu1cmsc_fz, mu1pix_fz, and CEM(1,5). You should decrease prescale on CEM(2,5) and at the same time try to keep the two single muon rates up to 1-1.5Hz each. If you still need to increase the rate, then turn to CEM(1,5).
