Date: Thu, 20 Dec 2001 02:03:46 -0600 From: Levan Babukhadia To: d0shifters@fnal.gov Subject: instructions for global_CalMuon-3.00 and 3.10 We now have two new global configurations in the official online area: global_CalMuon-3.00.xml global_CalMuon-3.10.xml We have already taken collider data on Tuesday night with the 3.00 and we have downloaded and started the run with 3.10 today -- so both configurations work online. The corresponding prescales directories each contains the following prescales files: 2e30.prescales 4e30.prescales 6e30.prescales 8e30.prescales 1e31.prescales panic.prescales First five should cover us for the luminosity range indicated by the filenames. The panic.prescales is the file that should be downloaded in case of unexpectedly high delivered luminosity or if, for various reasons, daq needs to be run at 'minimal' rate into L3. If you'll have to use this file you should notify appropriate experts immediately. The prescales values have been agreed upon in the Trigger Board. So, the daq shifters should not need to modify the prescales values. But at a given luminosity, say ~6e30, if you want to lower the rate into L3 to make daq run, you should try the files for higher luminosities first, before trying to change any prescales values in the 6e30.prescales file, and should try the lower luminosity prescales set if you need to increase the rate into L3. We are aiming at sustained rate of 6-10Hz into L3.
