This run plan covers:
Current Situation and Plans
All shifts are to be manned 24/7 throughout the weekend. Tevatron plans are for shots and stores all weekend through Tuesday 08:00, at which time they will do three shifts of beam studies.
The water leak was located during the Friday (June 28th) supervised access. One of the SMT heat exchangers was disconnected from the water manifold. Ops crew successfully closed up in record time - less than two hours.
Magnet polarities (through Tuesday July 2nd owl shift):
Solenoid = Reverse
Toroid = Forward
There are three trigger configuration files to use:
7.40 is a new trigger configuration not yet tested with beam, so new sets of prescale files need to be created and tuned. Initial 7E30 prescale sets are ready for shot setup and early store. If help is needed with prescales, page Elizabeth Gallas (call at home if at odd hours).
For the first couple of stores this weekend, we will need to tune the prescales for optimum data taking. The maximum rates into and out of L3 have yet to be determined. Elizabeth has suggested the following schedule:
| Beam conditions | ||
|---|---|---|
| Shot Setup | Collisions | |
| Day | Page | Page | Eve | No Page | Page | Owl | No Page | Home |
During non-colliding beam, the zero_bias_only-1.3.xml trigger should be run with all available crates to exercise the DAQ as long as this does not conflict with commissioning or calibration efforts.
During extended periods of time (>1 hour) when no beam is expected in the Tevatron, the cosmics-1.40.xml trigger should be run with all available crates and Recording On as long as this does not conflict with commissioning or calibration efforts.
