Why don’t I see Luminosity
on the ACNET.
1)
Is
the Beam ON?
Check Ch24 on the Accelerator TV system or page C65
on the ACNET console. If there is NO beam then do not bother luminosity
Experts.
2)
Walk
into MCH1 to rack 114. Look at the top crate. Is VME scaler (in the middle)
working?
-
Yes
à Hardware works.
-
No
à HV or LV off. For HV check luminosity screen
if channels tripped or off. For LV call Experts.
3)
Look
at the rate meters (on the left of the rack). They are labeled. Change the scale
on the rate meters. Do you see the needle move?
-
Yes
à There is a D0 clock.
-
No
à Clock is not seen by luminosity electronics.
Walk to rack M100. Look at the sequencer 7020 lines 12,13,14 (bottom of the
rack). Is the green light on each channel on?
Yes à Call Luminosity Experts.
No à Clock is not working.
Master clock must be reloaded from scratch. Stop all runs. Do TFW Init once
clock is reset.
4)
Walk
into Control Room. Check luminosity GUI on the DAQ or Captain’s screen.(To
start GUI type
setup d0online
start_daq Captain (or start_daq Shifter) )
Open “Server Status” (on the top) and hit
Refresh (on the bottom). Look for lines with:
-
TCC
-
lmServer
-
Export
If the time is “old” (more than 5 mins) on any
application then reset that application only (see instructions below). Wait 5
mins if there is a change.
If the TCC is not updating then restart LmTCC first
and wait 5 mins for a change in the server and acnet. Do it first. Then,
If LmServer is not updating then restart LmServer.
If Export is not updating then restart LmAcnet.
-
check
that you are logged in d0olb under d0lum (if not type
ssh d0lum@d0olb.fnal.gov)
Start a new shell and type.
-
ps
–fu | grep –i lm
(there would be a list of several lm applications.
Find the line with the one to be restarted (name will be on the right)
-
kill
–9 ****** (first 6 digit number on the left of the application to be restarted)
It
will automatically restarted after a minute or so. Go to “server status” on GUI
and hit refresh. Should see updated time stamp.
If
the problems remain contact Michael Begel or other Experts (see previous page)
