FERMILAB COMPUTING DIVISION
and D0
UNIX Product Distribution
Registration Request

Revised
11 Sept 2001

The form below is now obsolete. Registration for D0 distributions is on an individual basis via kerberos or ssh authentication and also allows read access to the D0 cvs repository.

Send email to d0-release-mgr@fnal.gov with the name of your kerberos principal (usually your username@FNAL.GOV) or your ssh RSA public key and ask that they be inserted into the appropriate permission files.

You use the kerberos principal in exactly the same way you used to use rsh. Just "setup d0cvs" and issue the cvs commands. BUT make sure that you have a valid kerberos ticket.

ssh is a bit more complicated. See: http://www.fnal.gov/docs/products/cvs/cvs_ssh.html.
To invoke the ssh method, one should setup d0sshcvs rather than the normal setup d0cvs. For more detail see: the D0News announcement.

The other half of the registration is to register for the Fermilab distributions via upd from fnkits.fnal.gov. You can do this yourself at: http://www.fnal.gov/cd/forms/upd_registration.html

Please fill out this form to be registered for product distribution via both
upd and ftp from fnkits.fnal.gov (FNAL supported products) and www-d0.fnal.gov
(D0 Run II Software). Please return it to d0-release-mgr@fnal.gov.

These products are intended only for high energy physics associated with
Fermilab and the D0 experiment. Software available to the public is available
via anonymous ftp through the FermiTools project.

Division/ Section/
Group or Exp: D0 (or don't bother)

NODE NAME:
specify the fully qualified internet name

MACHINE FLAVOR:
  (IRIX, Linux, NT etc.)

LOCATION OF NODE:

E-MAIL ADDRESS:
  for communications regarding products.

D0 DISTRIBUTION ONLY (D0/both):
Default is both, D0 and FNAL access.
Not all machines need FNAL access if you NFS or AFS
mount your Products disk. All machines where people
  work need D0 CVS access.

For D0 CVS access we need a list of usernames who need
read access from this machine. If it is a D0 *only* machine
we can wildcard all users. Please supply a list of usernames
or "all", the latter signifying that you certify that this
machine is accessable to D0 people only.
