In cosidernig the CVS system and  esp after our endorsement of the emacs
editor  we  should note  that  there  exists a  very  useful  (and free)
software by  the Signum  Support AB (the  same one as  for CVS) which is
basically an emacs front end to CVS  which is called pcl-cvs. It is sort
of like a CVS emacs major mode. 

In  case we  would  consider  using  CVS  pcl-cvs  could be a  very good
replacement  and enhacement  to some of  Harrisons beta  utilities which
deal  with  the  library   elements  (not  the   distribution)  themself
(cmsupdate, cmsfetch and the like).

As all the emacs utilities pcl-cvs could be made d0 specific.
