Muon Algorithms Status Report for the Months of October and November 1998 : We have made updates to the geometry software to use realistic geometry for MDT octants in place of idealized trapezoids for all octants. The TZ files used for GEANT are also being updated so as to be consistent with the detector drawings and input (rcp file) to the muon geometry software. The MuoAnalyze package and the detector display packages are being used to debug geometry. We continue to debug and fix muon geometry (base and channel geometry for various detectors) as we continue to use it to provide relevant information for hit finding and tracking. We have two packages for detector and event display. One of them was developed by Onne Peters and Kors Bos and is based on ARVE framework. Ths has been and is being used extensively. This handles all sub-detectors of the muon system and displays the detectors and the events (hits for now). The other package is based on the open inventor and has been put together by George Alverson of NEU. Sharon and Harrison are supposed to take over the open inventor package. We are making progress on global tracking in WAMUS and beginning to work on FAMUS. This will be in Daria's report under Muon ID. We have also started work on alternate fast segement finding and tracking. Pushpa and Taka
