MUON ALGORITHMS REPORT MAY-JUNE 1999
----------------------

We had a Muon Software (Algorithms + ID) mini-workshop during
May 11-13, 1999. The items we focused on during the workshop were
(1) The suite of code for MC -> Unpacked data -> Processed hits,
(2) Clean-up of the existing code on Geometry and Reco, debugging
and testing, (3) Calibration and alignment issues (4) Fast segment
finding, (5) Display of PDT cells and hits using Mr. Datae and (6)
L3TMuonTool. The workshop provided the impetus needed for many of
these issues, and much progress was made.

We have completed the necessary code for MC -> unpacked data ->
processed hits. For Unpacked data -> MuoHit, most of the code was
rewritten to use the same code both in level 3 and offline. We have
been reorganizing the reco software in a major way to decouple
the framework dependent code from the lower level data processors
and data format specifiers. Currently we are simultaneously working
on muo_hitreco and muo_segmentreco packages. We have the segment-
finding code working for WAMUS and hope to have trackReco
working within the month.
