Dear participant:

    These are directions to get to Michigan State University by car from
Fermilab, Detroit or if you fly into Lansing.  On saturday evening there 
will be a reception at my house and everybody is welcome. Directions to my
house are attached at the bottom.  Have a good trip and hope to see you
in Michigan this weekend.

Directions to East Lansing (Marriott, Kellog Center and Physics Department).

* In case you are flying into Lansing, we suggest you take a cab to the
  Marriott, Kellogg Center or the Physics Dept.

* driving from Fermilab/Chicago.
This is a 4 hour drive and following are the directions from Fermilab: take
I88 (the east-west tollway) east.  Take I294 south (Indiana) right after the
first toll plaza.  Stay on I294 which will change into I94 once you get to
Indiana. I94 will take you through Indiana (48miles) and into Michigan. Take
exit 108 north to Lansing( yes it is about 108 miles into Michigan). You are
now on I69 north.  Go north for about 32miles till the exit for I96 east to
Detroit. Take this exit and go east on I96 for about 8 miles. Take exit 106 on
I96 which will lead you to I496/US127 north. After a few miles you exit on
Trowbridge.  


* driving from Detroit Metro airport. (about 1.5 hours)
Follow the signs to I94 and take the exit which makes you travel west
(direction of Chicago).  After about 2 miles take the exit onto I75 north in
the direction of Flint.  I75 will merge with I96.  Stay on I96 and follow the
signs to Lansing. Take exit 106 on I96 which will lead you to I496/US127
north. After a few miles you exit on Trowbridge.  


* you are on Trowbridge .
Follow this road until the traffic light where it ends.  Turn left on to
Harrison ( you are going north).  The Kellogg Center is on this street after
about 1.5 miles on the right hand side. To get to the Marriott follow Harrison
until it crosses Michigan Av. and turn right. Stay in left hand lane.
Michigan Av. will flow into Grand River Av. You pass Abbott Rd and next one is
MAC. Turn left into MAC. Marriott is in right hand side.

>From either Marriott or Kellogg Center go to Grand River Avenue and start
driving east.  You will need a car ! You will leave East Lansing and enter
Okemos, pass a large mall area and several traffic lights. Cross Okemos Road
and Marsh Road.  After passing Marsh road things will get quieter. You will
have one more traffic light when crossing Dobie Road. About 3/4 mile after
Dobie you will turn left onto Cornell Road ( blinking yellow light). Follow
Cornell for about 2miles ( watch out for deer) and then turn right into
Buckingham. Immediately turn right again into Teakwood Circle. Follow the
circle for about 1mile and the house is on the left hand side. It has yellow
lights.
