Welcome to Daniela's Homepage

OK, that's me.

Daniela
in Disneyworld.

Some random facts about me:

My daughter Emma Isabella ("die schöne Isabella") was (finally....) born May 15th 2006. Here's a picture of her dressed up as a pumpkin for Halloween. Here's a link to the up-to-date baby pictures, which are slowly but surely approaching 100 in number. You have been warned.

In October 2007 we bought a house in London (Zone 3, ex-council). If you are familiar with house prices in London (70 m^2 + attic = £ 320000, for our American friends, that's 700 sqft + attic for $600000 and yes, the zeros are all correct), you know that this represents a considerable downgrade from our Chicago dwellings (see below). Oh well, can't win them all.

This is my nickname 'Marianne' in Klingon provided by my ex-flatmate Ines:

(Marianne is a character in a German 'radio-cartoon'. She is rather straightforward, especially when she runs out of beer. I have no idea whatsoever, what this has got to do with me. I hate beer. I prefer dry red wine. And cocktails. Lots of them :-)

Pictures: (in no particular order)

In October 2005 Jon and me went to see the National Parks of the US Southwest. In case you really like pictures of rocks, this is the link for you.

I went to Graceland. It's great :-)

Jon and my fabulous trip to Hawaii (Oct 2004).

I went to ISMD 2004 in Sonoma.

June 2004: Trips to Yosemite, the Hooverdam and the Grand Canyon. All during/after the D0 workshop in Fresno. Comments (for my parents :-) are in German.

Building a Stardestroyer. Apart from building rather complicated Lego models I also knit. Here is a picture of my friend Ines' children wearing some really cool hats I made.

March 2004: As I couldn't face cold and windy Chicago on my 32nd birthday Jon and me went to
Disneyworld in Florida.

June 2003: Jon and me went to Las Vegas and met Elvis. And lost 8 dollars.

2003: Jon's and my fabulous appartment in Chicago (and one picture of my rather grim dwelling in London)

2002: I turned 30 :-). Conveniently my sister turned 28 on the same day, so we had a great party together.

FNAL Summer 2000: People and scenery.

29/10/2002: Finally 'Frau Dr' :-)
Jon and me at the post-viva party.

12/10/2002: Ines had a baby (Lilli).

And yes, I am a Trekkie. Bad picture, though.

I do like guinea pigs, but guineas pigs don't necessarily like me. I tend to put them in the washing machine, when they stink.

If you think this is funny, then you spend far too much time in front of a computer.

Random pictures.
