d0setwa

The command d0setwa (D0 set working area) defines the current directory to be the D0 working area. This has two implications:

Both of these assignments are absolute: if you change to another directory, the paths still point to the areas in the directory where d0setwa was run.

If you do not run d0setwa in your local release area, then the binaries in the local release be on your path only if the release area is your current directory.

If you do not define some RCP environment variables by hand, then you must run d0setwa somewhere to run programs that access RCP files. Typically this is the local directory. Note that RCP scripts in pkgname/rcp/rcpname.rcp will override those in the RCP data base.
