Wed. night 1/7/98 Dear Friends and family, Brian did sleep some last night--he woke up 6 times to vomit. The food did not agree with him at all. Today they change his food formula and slowed down the delivery of the food. Had a rough, umcomfortable morning, but was improving this afternoon. Good news... The pain pill is working. He is off the morphine. He got scared when he was vomiting and his NG tube came out. A 13 inch yellow tube came out of his mouth and he saw it and was very scared. He has been afraid to move since that happened. Sara did take him for a long ride in a red wagon. She pulled him all around several floors of the hospital. He is depressed and will not talk to anyone or smile. He covers his head and looks away. He REALLY needs a day or two out of the hospital with his family. He still may be able to go home Friday. Eating is the only remaining problem. Sara's crown fell off her tooth. (It had temporary glue on it, because she had inflammation in that area--something to do with stress) She called her dentist and tried to have it fixed in S.F. Didn't work out, so she called her dentist back and said send some glue with Stan in a syringe and I''ll put it back in myself!!! What one will do when battling cancer! Steven is going to after school care on his school campus with all his friends. He loves it! He wants to go there all through 4th grade next year! He's still focusing well on his school work. Our prayer is still that Brian gets to go home for the weekend. Love, Susan
