Subject: A Magician is Coming! Friday evening Dear Friends and Family, Brian's x-ray results were good--no pneumomia. He just finished drinking the contrast--dye--for a CTSCAN tonight. He complained a lot, but did not want the NG tube so did it! They are still searching for the cause of his fevers. Fever about 102 all day again today. Brian has had to take the vancomycin (for CDEF stomach infection) and colase (for bowels) by mouth today. He hates the taste of these medications, but he is cooperating (somewhat) because he does not want an NG tube. When he had the NG tube, he got all these oral meds that way. He has had another quiet day. Not feeling well. No energy or interest in doing anything. Sara did manage to get him into a wheelchair and out of the room for about 30 minutes. His IV pole is so loaded with medications that they had to proceed carefully down the hallway. Now for the GREAT news!!!!! The magic shop where Sara and Steven got the magic trick for Brian gave me the names and phone numbers of some magicians in S.F. A clown magician, Funny Bones, will be visiting Brian and Steven this Sunday afternoon! This should be a good time, because it is before Brian's next chemo on Monday. He does tricks and makes the best balloon animals in S.F. He is coming in full circus costume! It will be a surprise for the boys! I'll take photos for Brian's web site. Stan's job this week has been in Marin. This town is close to S.F.; consequently, he has been able to return to the hospital each evening. Steven went with him to work the past two days. They have had a good time together. This wonderful family has been making the most of this week in the hospital. Praises to God for the gift of this magician to raise Brian's spirits. Praises of thanksgiving that Brian does not have pneumonia and that he took all his meds by mouth without vomiting. God is answering your prayers. Thank you all for your constancy. Pray that the source of his fevers can be found with the CTSCAN. Pray that his fever subsides. Love, Susan
