Subject: Brian is mad!

Friday night, 3/6/98
Dear Friends and Family,

Sara and Brian did not sleep last night.  Brian is spending his time being mad
at everyone in sight---Throwing his bedpan, calling people names, yelling and
screaming.  He had a new nurse last night and she had no idea that he is
really a very pleasant child.

Sara and Stan will be working with Brett (Brian's counselor) to come up with a
plan to deal with Brian's negative behavior.  It is intolerable for
everyone--especially Sara who has to deal with it all day long.  Brett came to
talk with Brian this afternoon, but Brian was sleeping.  Brian's anger is
understandable, but he has too many more months to go to spend all his time
mad.  Sara says an attitude adjustment is needed.

The AraC chemo has already brought on daily fevers in excess of 104.  He is
vomiting constantly.   He is on a morphine drip for pain.

Please pray for Brian to relax and appreciate all the good things that people
are doing for him.  (A tall order when he is experiencing so much discomfort.)
Brian is surrounded by loving people who are doing their best to help him
through this.  God bless all of you who are covering him with prayers of love.
Pray for him to feel some peace.  Pray for patience for Sara.  She is on the
front line doing her best everyday.
