Subject: Bad changes...

Dear Friends and Family,

Sara just called with an update.  Brian vomited a lot of blood at 5:00 p.m.
today.  They stopped the last 12 hours of AraC and started 3 antibiotics.  His
fever is over 104 again.  AraC can cause internal bleeding.  They told Sara
and Stan not to get worried.  

Earlier in the afternoon, Brian rode a tricycle to the conference on the 11th
floor where Steven and Sara were working on Steven's book report project.  He
was feeling great!  

Brian is becoming immune to the benadyrl.  It no longer controls his itching.
He has been increasingly itchy all day.  His skin is very red from the fevers
and scratching.

Now he must stay on these antibiotics for 3 days in the hospital.  By then his
blood counts will probably go down and he'll have lost those magical few days
at home.

Pray that the antibiotics help Brian and that he no longer vomits blood.  Pray
that his itching can be eased with the lotions.  Praise God for his good day
and high energy prior to 5:00.
