Subject: Again no improvement... Thursday, 3/19/98 Brian's website: http://www-d0.fnal.gov/~hanlet/Brian/brian.html Dear Friends and Family, Brian has had another difficult day. Sara had to hit the red emergencey button for the first time. He vomited about 200 ccs of blood this morning---many large clots. The room filled immediately with hospital personnel. Sara paged Stan and he immediately left work and came to the hospital. He stayed all day. As a result of his failure to start recovering from the last round of chemo, the next round has been delayed a week. His mucousitis is still very bad and his blood counts are still not up. The gcsf shot that he gets everyday to help bring up his blood counts can cause pain in his bones. He has been having leg and back pain for 2 days. Finally last night, they gave him more pain medication. He slept better because finally he was not in constant pain. He still woke up and vomited, but it was a better night. Brian has been sleeping off and on today. He vomited more blood this afternoon. He has been getting many blood and platelet transfusions this week, but his counts remain low. He has fevers and infection again. His doctor said he may not begin to feel better until Monday. Pray that Brian's pain continues to be kept under control. Pray that he and Sara get some sleep tonight. Pray that Brian starts feeling better. God bless everyone of you. Love, Susan
