Subject: More time at home. Saturday, April 4, 1998 Brian's website: http://www-d0.fnal.gov/~hanlet/Brian/brian.html Dear Friends and Family, Brian has been home 10 days now. We had all expected him to feel better and better everyday, but this has not happened. He continues to be very sick. He tries, but eating is very difficult. He has managed to keep down a few ounces of Carnation Breakfast and some Gatorade the last 3 days. He did not vomit yesterday, but vomited again early this morning. Sara and Stan are trying to get him to walk more each day. He is weak and feels awful. He does not feel like playing---even when Gareth comes over. He wakes up at night screams and then falls back to sleep. He is sad and constantly afraid that he'll vomit. Last Wednesday when the evaluation tests were done, an error was made and the technicians failed to CTSCAN his head. They only did his chest and abdomen. Consequently, the doctors do not have all the information they need prior to resuming chemotherapy; therefore, chemo has been delayed another week--April 13th. If he was feeling good and enjoying his time at home, this would be good news. But everyone wants to move forward with his treatments. The CTSCAN of his head will be done on Wed. when they do the bone scan at UCSF. We will have a family Easter egg hunt this Sunday. Brian is not feeling good, but we hope to be able to distract and entertain him for a little while. He has been asking for an Easter egg hunt. Gareth will join the family and come play with Brian. Please pray that Brian is able to relax and enjoy some of this time at home. Pray that he is able to eat and stop vomiting. Love, Susan
