Subject: Back in the Hospital... Saturday, July 18th Brian's web site-- http://www-d0.fnal.gov/~hanlet/Brian/brian.html Dear Friends and Family, After spending a wonderful Friday at his brother, Steven's 9th birthday party, Brian spiked a fever. Brian played miniature golf and had a fun day running and playing. At 4:30 a.m. this morning, Sara had to drive him back to San Francisco. He is neutrapenic (low blood count--.5) and has high fevers. They x-rayed his chest to check for pnuemonia. He has a runny nose, but no pneumonia. He is on antibiotics for the fever. His blood counts are on the way down. He must stay in the hospital until they come up--probably about 1 week. He will be on antibiotics the whole time. This hospital trip is very upsetting to Brian. He never had to return in June and he thought he would not have to go back this time either. Except for the fever, he feels great! This makes it hard to be in isolation in his room. He can only go to the playroom when they schedule him a time there alone. It gets boring for him to be confined to his room when he feels so good. He can't even ride the bike through the halls. Sara is sad to be missing Steven's send off tomorrow to church camp. It will be his first camp experience away from his family. He is very excited to be going away with his friends. Sara did not even have time to pack his things for camp. We were very surprised when Brian spiked a fever. Once this happens, he must get to the hospital right away. There is going a BIG celebration party for Brian on Sat., October 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at the Warne's home. EVERYBODY who reads this e-mail is invited. More information will follow. We just want you to mark your calendar and try to make plans to come. We want to thank you and meet you and have you meet Brian. Praises to God for Brian's good spirits and good health. This is a minor hospital trip--simply a need for recovery drugs to help him. Pray that this week will go well for Sara and Brian and that his fevers can be kept down. God bless you all. Love, Susan
