Subject: Nothing but GREAT news! Sunday, August 16, 1998 Brian's web site: http://www.d0.fnal.gov/~hanlet/Brian/brian.html Dear Friends and Family, Everything has worked out beautifully in August! The two days of tests at U.C. Medical center in San Francisco have shown Brian to be cancer free! His broviach (2 tubes through which to deliver chemo and other drugs) was removed last week. Only a tiny red spot remains on his chest. He shows it off proudly. His future medical plan fits on a 1/2 sheet of paper! Once in Sept. and Oct. he will have blood drawn in Santa Rosa. In November he will return to S.F. for blood tests and a scan. How simple that is when compared to the past 9 months! Brian shared with his Vacation Bible School friends that God had taken his cancer away. He told them that God helped him when he felt a lot of pain and made him feel better. Brian will start kindergarten on August 31st. The Warne family will be going to Disneyland in September courtesy of "Make a Wish" foundation. August 25th, the Warnes and Burkes will be attending an honorary field visit at a Giant's game. Sam Hopkins, a family friend, made arrangements for this special visit. We will be able to go onto the field during batting practice to see players and get autographs! Brian and Steven are VERY excited! While in the hospital, Sara completed handquilting a quilt that she started making for Brian when she was pregnant with him! She entered this quilt in the Sonoma County Fair in July. She has never put anything a fair before. Brian's quilt won a blue ribbon! Important reminder! The Warne family wants you to put October 3rd on your calendar. You are invited to their home to celebrate on that day. A more complete invitation with directions to their house will come later. Thank you for your prayers and continuing support. We are joyful that God has blessed our lives with each one of you. Praise and thanksgiving to our living Savior. Love, Susan
