I'm John Krane, a former member of Iowa State University's Alpha Group in High Energy Physics. I performed my research at the DØ Experiment ("DZero") located at Fermilab.
From 2001 until Feb. 15, 2003, I was one of two convenors of the QCD group for Run II. The QCD group studies the strong nuclear force and the structure of matter via proton-antiproton collsions and the resulting gamma rays and sprays of hadronic particles (called "jets"). I worked with jets and calorimetry from 1995 until 2003, and wrote my doctoral thesis on the scaling behavior of jets with center-of-mass energy of the colliding particle beams.
