Physicist and Author

Don Lincoln

Dr. Don Lincoln is a senior scientist at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. His primary research interest is the search for subatomic particles smaller than quarks.  He does this research using both the DZero and CMS detectors. He has co-authored hundreds of scientific papers and lectured in North America, Europe and Asia.

In addition to his research efforts, Don is a strong proponent of bringing the physics frontier to a lay audience and has given many public lectures.  He has written two books, Understanding the Universe:  From Quarks to the Cosmos (World Scientific, 2004) and The Quantum Frontier:  The Large Hadron Collider (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2009).  In addition, he has a bi-weekly column in the electronic newsletter Fermilab Today.  This column is entitled “Result of the Week” and describes a hot new research topic from the DZero experiment.  Don also has published in Analog: Science Fiction and Fact.

Stand back.  I'm about to do SCIENCE.
